Daedalus was a renowned inventor and architect in Greek mythology. Asked to design an inescapable labyrinth for a fierce monster, Daedalus and his son Icarus were then imprisoned inside the masterpiece. In a feat of innovation and daring, Daedalus fashioned wings from wax and feathers so father and child could escape. Disregarding Daedalus' warning - that the wings were risky but with caution would set them free - Icarus flew too close to the sun, melted his wings, and drowned in the ocean below. Innovation is powerful when risks are heeded.
